The Mansfield CHA Rambling Club was formed in 1930
The very first ramble was to Newstead Abbey on May 31st 1930
The initials CHA originally meant Co-operative Holidays Association, but this later became Countywide Holidays Association.
Membership fees were 2 shillings (10p) adults and 1 shilling (5p) children
In the early years the club used public transport, ie service buses and trains.
